SmartFlower Solar
Standing up a connected ERP for a clean-energy manufacturer scaling internationally.
Replaced disconnected spreadsheets and entry-level accounting with Dynamics 365 Business Central, giving SmartFlower a single platform for production, inventory, and finance as it expanded its global dealer network.
- Discovery & ERP selection
- Business Central implementation
- Multi-currency financial reporting
- Inventory & production setup
- User training & adoption
The starting point.
SmartFlower was scaling its solar product line across North American and European dealer networks while still running finance and operations on a patchwork of QuickBooks files and shared spreadsheets. Inventory was opaque, multi-currency reporting required manual consolidation, and the leadership team had no real-time view of margin by region or product.
How we delivered.
Discovery and ERP selection
Mapped existing finance, sales, and inventory processes to the Dynamics 365 Business Central feature set; defined a phased rollout aligned to fiscal year close.
Phased Business Central deployment
Configured GL, AP/AR, multi-currency, inventory, and assembly orders in a phased cutover so the operations team could absorb change without disrupting customer commitments.
Power BI on top of Business Central
Built executive dashboards for cash, margin by region, and inventory turns — refreshed nightly against the BC data warehouse.
Adoption & enablement
Trained finance and operations teams with role-based playbooks; established a post-go-live support cadence to lock in adoption.
What changed.
- Single ERP of record across finance, inventory, and assembly
- Multi-currency reporting consolidated without manual spreadsheet work
- Real-time visibility into product- and region-level margin
- Foundation in place to add EDI, advanced manufacturing, and CRM modules
